Helping Texas Live Up to Its Reputation

Some call Texas a southern state, some say southwestern, but one thing everyone can agree on is that everything is bigger in Texas. Texas-sized refers to big hats, big horned cattle and more territory than any state except Alaska.  It can also be applied to the state’s 46 freight railroads which comprise the largest state rail network in the nation.  It figures that this state’s vast economy needs 46 different freight railroads to haul all the plastics, industrial chemicals, crushed stone, petroleum, farm and food goods Texans produce annually. Freight rail truly does help the Lone Star State live up to it reputation.
